Waterfall in the Loo

Knowing there would be natural waterfalls to see in Big Sur, we had to check out a famous man-made waterfall in San Luis Obispo…in the mens bathroom at the Madonna Inn. Making a road trip pit stop at the funky pink hotel just off Highway 101, Dan and I saw not only a waterfall in the water closet, but bathroom sinks shaped like giant oyster shells. Cashel reported no equivalent water feature in the ladies room.

Continuing up the coast we passed Hearst Castle, also known for extravagant interior design. Didn’t have time to stop there but enjoyed the natural beauty of beaches and ocean wildlife. Looked for offshore signs of sharks vs. elephant seals near the rookery north of San Simeon. No blood on the water was observed.
